As part of the Arkema Group’s societal and environmental responsibility policy, Jacques Pin, Manager of the CECA Châteauroux facility, signed on behalf of CECA and for the Châteauroux plant, the Responsible Care® global charter in Orléans on Thursday 16 April 2009 at an event jointly organised by UIC-Centre (Union des Industries Chimiques - French Chemical Industries Association) and DRIRE (Direction Régionale de l’Industrie, de la Recherche et de l’Environnement – Regional Authority for Industry, Research and Environment).
Witnessed by local elected officials and by representatives of the UIC national body, the event reflects CECA’s commitment to being an exemplary player in terms of safety, health, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Arkema endorses Responsible Care®, the global chemical industry’s voluntary commitment to improving its health, safety and environmental performance, under the aegis of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) at global level and the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) at European level. The initiative has been taken up by national federations, in particular in France by the Union des Industries Chimiques (UIC) under the name of Engagement de Progrès®.
