Price increase of CECA’s Siliporite® Molecular Sieves

CECA, a subsidiary of the Arkema group will implement a price increase of 8 to 10% for its Siliporite® Molecular Sieves, effective as of January 1st 2011.

CECA’s Molecular Sieve production has experienced a large rise in the cost of caustic soda, which also drives the cost of other key materials. This increase, combined with an increase in energy and transportations costs, has forced CECA to implement an average price increase of 8 to 10%, where contracts permit.

Raw materials, energy and transport costs have continued to increase in the fourth quarter beyond our ability to absorb theses extra costs” says Pierre Verdier, Molecular Sieves General Manager.

The Molecular Sieves (synthetic zeolites) manufactured and sold by CECA are alumino-silicate adsorbents. They are used in a large number of processes and industries to dry, purify and separate molecules. The most common applications are Insulated Glass, Coatings and Sealants, Refining, Petrochemicals, Natural Gas, Air Separation, and Medical Oxygen concentrators.

CECA, a subsidiary of the Arkema Group, is a world player in Specialty Chemicals.  For more than 80 years, CECA constantly strives to improve its customers’ performance by creating and developing adsorbents, chemical intermediates, and additives. CECA operates an extensive network of industrial facilities in Europe, together with two research centres (GRL and CRRA) dedicated to Customer innovation.
