La Garenne Colombes, 23rd March 2009
Following the acquisition of Winkelmann Mineraria in January this year, CECA Italiana has decided to pool within its Pioltello head office near Milan, the administrative and commercial structures of its new subsidiary by the end of March.
Meanwhile, CECA’s Salerno site will cease production of expanded perlite on 23rd March 2009. This activity will be transferred to Winkelmann Mineraria’s Foggia facility. On the same date, the Salerno plant will start being dismantled with a view to selling the land on which the factory currently stands.
“Given the synergies between CECA and Winkelmann Mineraria, this concentration of the « Perlite » activities will deliver a competitive advantage in the markets supplied by our products. In labour terms, employees from the Salerno facility will be redeployed on the Foggia site (Winkelmann Mineraria) where they will replace those staff due for retirement, and boost the manpower required by this transfer of production”’ stated Christophe Villain, CECA Managing Director.
The Foggia facility will produce the CECAPERLÒ and CLARCEL FloÒ grades in addition to its Randalite and Randacel product ranges.
CECA, a subsidiary of the Arkema Group, is a world player in Specialty Chemicals.
