IFTS Seminar – 24 November 09 - Filtration and separation techniques: vital tools for the development of « green » chemistry and « sustainable » processes.
CECA presents its Activated Carbonpurification processes.
At a seminar on « vital tools for the development of green chemistry and sustainable processes » being held in Paris on 24th November 2009, CECA will present a paper on purification process optimisation using activated carbon, in particular Acticarbone® BGX.
Acticarbone® BGX stands out from traditional coal-based granular activated carbon by its major adsorption macro-porosity. It is suitable for use whenever a solution contains an excessive amount of colour or other molecules to be eliminated. The Acticarbone® BGX treatment phase ideally takes place towards the end of the process. The objective is to minimise the number of adsorption and clarification stages by making them more effective.
« CECA operates a low CO2 footprint activated carbon production plant in the heart of the Landes region of south-western France. The plant’s raw material is pine wood. This renewable resource from a well-managed forest, together with our optimised manufacturing process produce the remarkable adsorption properties of Acticarbone® activated carbon.» explains Phillipe Bour, CECA Development Manager.
